Tasting notes

On the nose, it opens with red cherry, wild strawberry, and raspberry, layered with cranberry, dried rose petals, and subtle violet. With air, more tertiary notes emerge: forest floor, damp earth, cedar, and a hint of sous-bois mushroom character, alongside delicate spice and light oak toast. The palate is firm, linear, and well-defined, with the 2012 vintage giving a sense of tension rather than plushness. Tannins are fine but still present, providing structure without harshness. The fruit core remains red-fruited and vibrant, supported by savoury earthy tones, light spice, and a mineral backbone typical of Corton’s terroir. Acidity is lively and precise, driving the wine forward and giving it energy. The finish is long, savoury, and slightly austere, with lingering notes of red fruit, earth, and subtle spice.
