About this wine
Pietro Caciorgna is a small-scale producer working the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna, where ancient Nerello Mascalese vines grow in mineral-rich black lava soils. The name n'Anticchia, Sicilian dialect for 'a little bit', signals an artisan sensibility and a wine made with restraint rather than ambition to impress.
Etna Rosso in this style typically shows red cherry, wild herbs and dried rose petal, with firm, fine-grained tannins and a saline mineral thread that is the hallmark of the appellation. Serve alongside lamb, aged pecorino, or charred octopus.
