To give Original a delicious, go-anywhere finesse, Glenmorangie make it in their giraffe-high stills, then age it 10 years in bourbon casks to absorb all manner of delectable flavours. The result is a smooth whisky which welcomes you with a rush of citrus, then holds your attention with layers of luscious flavour, from orange to honey and creamy vanilla, with bursts of peach. Bright, pale gold colour. Citrus and ripening peaches are balanced by vanilla softness on the nose. Flavours of vanilla emerges, then gives way to a burst of flowery fruitiness. A clean and salving aftertaste with hints of orange and peach.

About this whisky
Glenmorangie is a Scottish distillery that has been producing whisky since 1843. The Original 10-year-old expression is the flagship product of the distillery and is a testament to the quality of their craft. The whisky is made using only the finest malted barley, which is carefully selected and then mashed to extract the sugars needed for fermentation. The fermentation process takes place in large wooden washbacks, which are made from Oregon pine and are designed to allow the yeast to work its magic.
Once the fermentation process is complete, the wash is distilled twice in copper pot stills. The first distillation produces a low wine, which is then distilled again to produce the final spirit. The spirit is then aged for a minimum of 10 years in American oak casks, which have previously been used to age bourbon. This gives the whisky its distinctive flavour profile, which is characterised by notes of vanilla, honey, and citrus.
Glenmorangie is known for its commitment to quality and innovation. The distillery was one of the first in Scotland to use tall stills, which are now a hallmark of their production process. These stills allow for a greater level of copper contact, which helps to remove impurities and create a smoother, more refined spirit.
Overall, Glenmorangie Original 10-year-old is a classic example of Scottish whisky at its best. It is a smooth and complex spirit that is perfect for sipping on its own or enjoying with a splash of water. Whether you are a seasoned whisky drinker or a newcomer to the world of spirits, this is a whisky that is sure to impress.
