Lasanta means “Heat” and “Passion” in Gaelic. A 12-year-old single malt aged in Spanish sherry casks, Lasanta is a smoother and sweeter whiskey than that traditionally produced in the Highlands. Glenmorangie Lasanta is a particularly supple and elegant malt. It reveals gourmet notes of chocolate, honeycomb, caramel and apricot with warm spices in the background.

Ingredients

  • 45 ml Glenmorangie Lasanta 12 Years Old
  • 20 ml Pedro Ximénez Sherry
  • 15 ml Amaro Averna
  • 10 ml Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 7.5 ml Honey Syrup (1:1 ratio)
  • 2 Dashes Angostura Bitters 1 Egg White (optional, for silky texture)

Method

  1. Pour honey and lemon juice into a cocktail shaker
  2. Add the Glenmorangie Lasanta, Pedro Ximénez Sherry, and Amaro Averna
  3. Add the egg white if using for a silkier mouthfeel
  4. Add ice and shake vigorously for 12-15 seconds until well-chilled
  5. Double strain through a fine mesh strainer into the prepared glass
  6. Add 2 dashes of Angostura Bitters on top
  7. Stir gently to incorporate the bitters

Serve

Serve in a crystal coupe glass. Garnish with a single large orange twist (approximately 5cm long) expressed over the drink's surface to release oils, then rest it on the rim.
