Cahors is een wijnstreek in het zuidwesten van Frankrijk, bekend om de productie van rijke en volle rode wijnen gemaakt van de Malbec-druif. De geschiedenis van Cahors-wijn gaat terug tot de Romeinse tijd, toen de regio bekend stond als Divona Cadurcorum en er al wijn werd geproduceerd. In de middeleeuwen werd Cahors-wijn zeer gewaardeerd en werd zelfs geserveerd bij de kroning van Engelse koningen.

Tegenwoordig wordt Cahorswijn gemaakt met behulp van traditionele methoden, waarbij de druiven met de hand worden geoogst en gefermenteerd in eikenhouten vaten.
