Very full and structured, but very juicy and fresh as a daisy. You would not believe that this wine is already 14 years old, which is a testament to the persistence of Amarone, but even more to the excellence of this wine. A compact bead of currants and dates runs through the wine, supported by ample tannins that are well integrated. The finish is very long.

About this wine
Zyme's Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG represents the pinnacle of red winemaking from Italy's Veneto region. Crafted from the Corvina-based Valpolicella blend, this full-bodied red showcases the distinctive character of Amarone, a wine produced using partially dried grapes to concentrate flavor and natural sugars. The result is a wine of considerable power and complexity, with a persistent finish and the warmth characteristic of its 15.5% ABV.
The appellation of Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG is steeped in tradition, with winemaking practices refined over centuries in the rolling hills north of Verona. Zyme's commitment to quality and terroir expression ensures that each bottle captures the essence of these legendary vineyards. The wine's structure and depth make it exceptionally versatile at the table, equally at home with grilled meats and game as with rich blue cheese, dark chocolate, or classic Italian charcuterie and cured meats. It pairs beautifully with venison, duck, lamb, beef, and tomato-based dishes, making it an essential addition to any fine wine collection.
