with a very clear, bright, pure and refreshing bouquet of white fruits, blackcurrant, white blooms and passion fruit. Round and juicy on the palate, this is a very elegant, linear and pleasant Sancerre with a pretty intense and nicely concentrated texture and nice phenolic grip.

About this wine
Pascal Jolivet - Sancerre - Clos du Roy
Clos du Roy is Pascal Jolivet's Sancerre, made entirely from Sauvignon Blanc in the Loire. It is a white of 12.5% alcohol, leaning to the richer, more textured side of the appellation without losing its precision.
Citrus-coloured in the glass, with a clear, bright nose of white blossom, white fruits, blackcurrant and passion fruit. The palate is round and juicy, dense yet linear, with real concentration and a fine phenolic grip. The aftertaste is very aromatic, with confit grapefruit and lemon.
Sauvignon Blanc is the only grape. Stainless steel keeps the fruit pure and focused. Sancerre's limestone and flint soils typically add tension and a mineral edge to the variety, and that structure gives this wine its vitality.
Serve well chilled. It is a natural partner for goat cheese, the classic Loire pairing, and works equally well with shellfish, white fish and crisp salads. Dishes built on fresh herbs and aromatics suit it too. It makes a poised aperitif, and at the table it carries a light lunch or a first course.
