About this whisky
This is the 15-Year Family Reserve from Old Rip Van Winkle, bottled from cask 653 and produced in Kentucky. A wheated bourbon, it carries the extended ageing and higher proof (53.5% ABV) that define the Van Winkle Family Reserve tier.
Fifteen years in oak brings depth, dried fig, toffee, leather and baking spice layered over the softer wheated sweetness, finishing long and warm. Pour neat in a heavy tumbler, ideally as the last drink of the evening rather than a mixer. A bottle for guests who know what they are being poured.
