The label gives us the answer: a new creation from Mount Gay! A rum from Barbados, a former pirate lair and the historic birthplace of this noble spirit.
This is a new addition to the Single Estate range—the brand's first eco-designed line, illustrating its environmental commitment of which we discover the first batch here. This is the result of a blend of different vintages made from cane harvested in 2016 and 2017, distilled in copper pot stills, and aged in Bourbon barrels. Pear, plum, vanilla, and nutmeg are just some of the aromas revealed in this rum's exuberance.
The palate offers a delightful presence of pineapple, leather, banana, and star anise, while the finish opens with delicate saline notes. A rum of great nobility, best enjoyed neat to appreciate its purity.
