Enquire about availabilityThe 2016 Pernand-Vergelesses Clos de la Croix de Pierre (Domaine Louis Jadot) is quite ripe and gourmand, likely due to the year's small yields, offering up a honeyed bouquet of waxy lemon rind, white flowers and creamy new wood. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, open-knit and fleshy, with juicy acids and a pure, saline finish. This is already drinking well.
Louis Jadot's Pernand-Vergelesses Clos de la Croix de Pierre is a refined expression of white Burgundy crafted from Chardonnay grown in one of the region's most distinctive terroirs. Pernand-Vergelesses, nestled beneath the famous Corton hill, produces wines of remarkable elegance and minerality, where limestone-rich soils impart a distinctive saline character to the finished wine.
This white wine showcases the classic profile of quality Burgundy: a dry, medium-bodied Chardonnay with bright citrus fruit and a racy acidity that defines great wines from this appellation. Louis Jadot's thoughtful winemaking approach allows the terroir to shine, delivering a wine of sophistication and food-friendly versatility. The Clos de la Croix de Pierre pairs beautifully with shellfish, lobster, and crab, while also complementing chicken curry, creamy dishes, truffle-based preparations, and aged cheeses such as Manchego and goat cheese.
A benchmark white Burgundy for discerning collectors and those seeking authentic, terroir-driven wines for fine dining and entertaining at private estates.
