Enquire about availabilityBright and expressive on the nose with classic Sancerre hallmarks of zesty grapefruit, white peach, and freshly cut grass, underscored by a distinctive flinty minerality. On the palate, crisp acidity provides excellent structure, with flavours of lemon zest, gooseberry, and a subtle herbaceous quality. The finish is clean, refreshing, and lingering, with a saline, chalky mineral note that speaks beautifully to the Loire's renowned terroir.
Jean-Paul Balland's Sancerre Blanc comes from the appellation's chalky and flint-streaked slopes above the Loire, made entirely from Sauvignon Blanc. It is a benchmark expression of the grape in its spiritual home, where the region's soils and cool climate shape a taut, mineral style.
Expect citrus zest, green fruit and a flinty edge, with the kind of racy acidity that cuts through richer food. Serve well chilled at 10-12°C alongside shellfish, goat cheese, green vegetables or dishes with a bit of heat.
