The personal project of winemaker Chris Phelps of Inglenook. Since his days at Dominus in the 1990s, he continues to show a deft hand with Cabernet Sauvignon. Grapes are sourced entirely from the Sleeping Lady vineyard in Yountville. Seductively fresh, giving up earth, black fruit, dried thyme and brown baking spices with hints of tobacco. Full-bodied on entry, striking a lovely balance between saturated black and blue-toned fruit with savoury wild herbs, conifer and earth, just hinting at spearmint, and bolstered by fine-grained tannins and a firm acid backbone. Long, layered and cellar worthy.

About this wine
Ad Vivum Cellars produces distinctive Cabernet Sauvignon wines from California's Napa Valley, one of the world's premier regions for this classic varietal. Drawing on the region's ideal climate and terroir, Ad Vivum crafts full-bodied red wines with firm tannin structure and rich black fruit character, aged to develop complexity and depth.
This Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon showcases the warming, high-alcohol profile that defines premium expressions of the grape. The wine's structure and intensity make it an exceptional choice for bold flavors and hearty dishes. Pair it with aged cheeses like Gruyere and Cheddar, or serve alongside beef, lamb, and game birds. For a sophisticated dessert pairing, try it with dark chocolate.
