The 2009 Genesis Syrah contains 2% Viognier and about 50% new French oak was used but only up to malolactic, then the new oak was reduced to about 15%, for a total aging in oak of 20 months. Deep garnet-purple colored, it has intense aromas of creme de cassis, smoked meat, game, fertile loam, nuts and black olives with hints of black pepper and violets. Medium to full-bodied with refreshing acid cutting through the concentrated fruit, it has a medium level of grainy tannins and a long finish. Approachable now, it should cellar to 2021+. D'une robe grenat profond avec une pointe de violet, le Genesis Syrah 2010 est légèrement réduit en attaque, bien que le cœur aromatique de fruits noirs mûrs, myrtilles et mûres en particulier, transparaît accompagné de touches de charbon, de terre calcinée, de poivre et de réglisse. De structure moyenne et doué d'une belle intensité de saveurs de fruits rouges et noirs, il possède une acidité nette et des tannins charnusmédiuns avant de finir avec une excellente persistance. À boire dès maintenant jusqu'en 2020 et au-delà.
