The 2009 Genesis Syrah contains 2% Viognier and about 50% new French oak was used but only up to malolactic, then the new oak was reduced to about 15%, for a total aging in oak of 20 months. Deep garnet-purple colored, it has intense aromas of creme de cassis, smoked meat, game, fertile loam, nuts and black olives with hints of black pepper and violets. Medium to full-bodied with refreshing acid cutting through the concentrated fruit, it has a medium level of grainy tannins and a long finish. Approachable now, it should cellar to 2021+. De color granate profundo con un toque de púrpura, el Syrah Genesis 2010 presenta una ligera reducción inicial, aunque el núcleo aromático de frutas negras maduras, arándanos y moras en particular, emerge junto con notas de carbón, tierra chamuscada, pimienta y regaliz. De cuerpo medio y dotado de una gran intensidad de sabores de frutas rojas y negras, presenta una línea ácida crujiente y tannins masticables de nivel medio antes de finalizar con una gran persistencia.
