Rhodes and Kos are the Dodecanese’s two real marinas and both are border posts as much as berths. Rhodes Marina sits below the medieval walled city; Kos Marina is a few miles of water from Bodrum. A great many yachts use one or the other to move between Greek and Turkish waters, which makes them the most strategically useful stops in the eastern Aegean.

That border is the reason to store here. Greece is inside the EU and Turkey is not: wine moves to a Greek marina on ordinary EU logistics with no customs frontier, and the moment the yacht crosses, provisioning becomes an export matter with paperwork and time attached. Filling the cellar on the Greek side before the crossing is almost always the cheaper and simpler plan, and we will say so.

Orders travel from our French cellar on EU logistics, duties and paperwork handled, typically three to four working days from confirmation. For a yacht working the Turkish coast for a season with periodic returns into Greek waters, we are happy to plan the whole programme around those returns rather than treating each delivery as a separate scramble.

The Dodecanese make more wine than their reputation suggests, Rhodes has a long tradition and its whites from Athiri are good with the local seafood, but the real strength of a Greek list out here is what comes from the Cyclades and the north. We carry Santorini Assyrtiko, Naoussa Xinomavro and Nemea Agiorgitiko alongside the full international range.
