Trogir is a walled Venetian island town joined to the mainland by a bridge, and it is the quieter, better-organised alternative to Split fifteen minutes up the road. ACI Marina Trogir sits on Čiovo directly opposite the old town; Marina Baotić at Seget Donji, just west, is the larger berth and one of the main technical bases on this coast.

Its real advantage is the airport. Split’s international airport is closer to Trogir than it is to Split, which makes this the most efficient turnaround base in Dalmatia, guests off a plane and aboard in twenty minutes. A great deal of the charter fleet knows this, and changeover Saturdays here are busy in a way the town does not otherwise suggest.

We plan to the changeover rather than to the order. Orders travel from our French cellar on EU logistics, no customs frontier, duties and paperwork handled, typically two to three working days from confirmation, and we would rather land a delivery on the Thursday than on the Saturday morning everyone else is also trying to do everything.

From Trogir the cruising runs straight out to Šolta, Brač, Hvar and Vis, which is the best of the Dalmatian islands and also the part with the least reliable supply. Store properly here.
