Formentera is an anchorage rather than a marina. The fleet lies off Illetes and Espalmador on the sand in water that is the reason everyone comes, and Marina de Formentera at La Savina is small, busy and mostly occupied by the ferries and the day boats. Almost nothing about provisioning here is like provisioning a port.

We deliver to La Savina, and we will tell you honestly when the sensible answer is to store in Ibiza and bring it across. Ibiza is twenty minutes away by fast boat, it has two proper marinas that can handle a pallet, and a yacht that is going to spend a fortnight on the Formentera sand is far better stocked before it gets there than topped up from a small island quay in August.

What this anchorage drinks is narrow and predictable, and we would rather load for it accurately than send a general cellar. Rosé by the case, Champagne cold and in quantity, crisp whites, and a proper back-bar for sundowners, with much less red than a wine list would suggest. Orders travel from our French cellar on EU logistics with the island crossing built in, no customs frontier, typically three to four working days from confirmation, and more notice than that in high season. The Balearics run as one delivery region for us, so a yacht working Ibiza, Formentera, Mallorca and Menorca deals with one supplier and one invoice.
