Capri in July is one of the hardest places in the Mediterranean to deliver anything. Marina Grande is small, the hydrofoils and ferries have priority, the island road is not built for pallets, and most of the fleet is at anchor off the Faraglioni rather than alongside. None of that is a reason to arrive under-stocked, it is a reason to plan the delivery properly instead of hoping.

We deliver to Marina Grande and work with the crew on the tender leg, and we will say honestly when the better answer is to store on the mainland instead. Marina di Stabia and Molo Luise in Naples are both inside our own van’s delivery zone and are a straightforward hop from the island: for a full season stock that is almost always the right call, with Capri kept for top-ups.

What gets drunk here is particular. Capri is a lunch-and-sundown island, Champagne, Provence and Ligurian rosé, cold whites, a serious back-bar for after dinner, and far less heavy red than the wine list suggests. We weight deliveries to that rather than shipping a cellar designed for a northern itinerary, and we will build the list from the guest brief if you send it.

The local wines are genuinely worth carrying: Campania makes some of Italy’s best whites in Fiano di Avellino and Greco di Tufo, the Lacryma Christi wines come off Vesuvius in plain sight across the bay, and Aglianico from Taurasi is the serious red. Guests ask for them by name after a day ashore, and we would rather you had them aboard.
