Enquire about availabilityThe light lemon colour, nuanced with golden and green highlights, is shimmering and luminous. The calm and steady effervescence consists of very fine bubbles. The expression is floral (honeysuckle, lilac) enhanced by citrus notes over a touch of fresh butter and crème fraîche. After a few minutes of aeration, the notes of evolution and aging appear and enrich the overall experience: the nose is complex, refined, and full of character. As the wine warms slightly, the expression becomes more "racy." The wine then expresses spicy notes of ginger and lemongrass. The excellent acidity is particularly noticeable, maintaining the desire for more wine throughout the tasting. These various sensations produce an overall creamy and harmonious texture. The finish is clean, slightly mineral, and long. The final impression is reminiscent of grapefruit and leaves the memory of a dynamic and vigorous wine.
Vilmart & Cie, a family-owned grower-producer based in Reuil, stands among Champagne's most respected artisanal houses. Focusing on small-scale, quality-driven winemaking, Vilmart crafts wines that reflect the distinctive terroir of their Premier Cru vineyards in the Vallée de la Marne. The Grand Cellier d'Or Brut showcases the house's commitment to balance and elegance, blending Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to create a Champagne of notable complexity and finesse.
This Brut sparkling wine exemplifies the freshness and minerality characteristic of cool-climate Champagne production. The interplay of Chardonnay's citrus and floral notes with Pinot Noir's spicy depth creates a wine of uncommon sophistication. The creamy mousse and layered palate make this cuvée equally suited to aperitif service or as an accompaniment to seafood, oysters, and light appetizers, an ideal choice for wine service in refined hospitality settings.
