Tasting notes

Elegant and precise, this Barbaresco opens with captivating aromas of dried rose petals, wild cherry, and iron-tinged earth, layered with hints of tar, tobacco, and dried herbs. On the palate, vibrant red fruit mingles with leather and spice, framed by firm yet refined tannins and lively acidity. The finish is long and mineral-driven, with a silky persistence that speaks to both the terroir of Pajè and the vintage's expressive character.

About this wine

Roagna's Pajè Barbaresco is sourced from the named Pajè vineyard within Barbaresco DOCG, Piedmont's neighbouring appellation to Barolo. Made from 100% Nebbiolo, it reflects the variety's calling card: dried rose, tar, redcurrant and firm, fine-grained tannin built for the long haul.

Expect a wine that opens slowly in the glass, gaining warmth and spice with air - best decanted well ahead of service. Its savoury backbone suits truffle dishes, roast lamb, venison and beef, and it holds its own against rich pasta courses. Serve at 16–18°C.
