Enquire about availabilityA rich and expressive Chenin Blanc offering honeyed yellow apple, ripe quince, and beeswax on the nose, layered with hints of toasted brioche and white florals. On the palate, the wine shows impressive weight and texture, balanced by a lively, mineral-driven acidity. Flavours of preserved lemon, apricot, and lanolin lead to a long, concentrated finish with a saline, chalky undertone characteristic of Loire Chenin at its finest.
La Grange Tiphaine produces this Clef de Sol Blanc from Chenin Blanc grown in the Loire, a grape the region has built its reputation on for dry, off-dry and sparkling styles alike. This bottling sits in the dry camp, showing the variety's characteristic tension between fruit and acidity.
Expect orchard fruit, a touch of honeyed richness and a bright, mineral finish. Serve at 10-12°C with goat cheese, roast chicken, green vegetables or an oily fish - Chenin's acidity makes it one of the more food-flexible whites to keep on the boat.
