Edinburgh Gin, the spearhead of Scottish-style gins, continues to innovate and expand its range while maintaining traditional know-how. In addition to the ideas, this distillery has several stills of different styles which offer it a fairly wide range of possibilities. Edinburgh Gin Rhubarb & Ginger is a gin made from 14 plants. The traditional Edinburgh Gin Classic recipe is then infused to give it an expression with intense rhubarb and ginger accents. The aromas, marked by juniper berries, are balanced. It reveals a nice marriage between the delicacy of rhubarb and the spice of ginger. The mouth confirms the aromas of the nose. It is both tasty and crunchy. With a soft and fresh finish, Edinburgh Gin offers a fragrant, balanced gin.

About this gin

Edinburgh Gin's Rhubarb & Ginger is a flavoured gin from the Scottish capital, built on the distillery's own juniper-led spirit and steeped with rhubarb and ginger root. Pink-hued and unmistakably Scottish in character, it sits between gin and liqueur.

Expect a tart, stewed-rhubarb sweetness against a warming ginger spice, with juniper kept in the background. Serve chilled over ice with ginger ale or a dry tonic, or pour neat as an aperitif before dinner on deck.

GINGER RHAPSODY

Ingredients

  • 60 ml Edinburgh Gin - Rhubarb & Ginger
  • 20 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 15 ml simple syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Soda water (to top up)

Method

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Add the Edinburgh Gin - Rhubarb & Ginger, lemon juice, and simple syrup.
  3. Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds.
  4. Double-strain the mixture into a chilled highball glass filled with fresh ice.
  5. Top up with soda water.
  6. Gently stir to combine.

Serve

Highball glass, garnished with a lemon wedge and a thin slice of candied ginger, skewered on a cocktail pick and placed in the drink.
