A rich and complex white with an opulent nose of white peach, beeswax, lanolin, and toasted hazelnuts, underpinned by floral notes of acacia and honeysuckle. On the palate, the Roussanne dominates with layers of dried apricot, quince paste, and wild herbs, framed by a waxy, full-bodied texture and vibrant acidity. The finish is long, saline, and mineral, with a lingering warmth that speaks to the wine's considerable age-worthiness.

About this wine
Château de Beaucastel is one of Châteauneuf-du-Pape's most serious estates, and this Vieilles Vignes bottling is their most ambitious white: a single-variety Roussanne drawn from old vines on the estate. At 14.5% ABV, it carries genuine weight and concentration.
Roussanne from old vines builds texture over time, expect lanolin, beeswax, white flowers and stone fruit, with a waxy, full-bodied palate and a long, savoury finish. Serve it with roast poultry, pork with cream sauces, oily fish such as turbot or sea bass, aged cheeses, or a well-considered charcuterie board.
