Taittinger, a renowned Champagne house, has a long and illustrious history in the world of winemaking. Established in 1734, it has been producing exceptional Champagnes for over two centuries. The Taittinger family, who have been at the helm of the company for generations, have consistently upheld the values of quality, elegance, and tradition.

Located in the heart of the Champagne region in northeastern France, Taittinger benefits from the unique terroir that characterizes this prestigious wine-growing area. The region's chalky soils, combined with a cool climate and gentle slopes, create the perfect conditions for growing the three main grape varieties used in Champagne production: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.

Taittinger takes great pride in its meticulous approach to winemaking. Each step of the production process is carefully executed to ensure the highest quality and expression of the grapes. The grapes are handpicked and sorted to select only the finest fruit, which is then gently pressed to extract the purest juice. The juice undergoes a primary fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by a secondary fermentation in the bottle, where the magic of Champagne bubbles takes place.

The Brut Millesime, one of Taittinger's flagship Champagnes, is a testament to the house's commitment to excellence. Made exclusively from grapes harvested in exceptional vintages, this vintage Champagne showcases the unique characteristics of a specific year. The blend typically consists of a majority of Chardonnay, which brings elegance and finesse, complemented by Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, which add depth and complexity.

Upon pouring, the Brut Millesime reveals a pale golden color, adorned with a fine and persistent stream of bubbles. The nose is delicate and inviting, with aromas of white flowers, citrus fruits, and brioche. On the palate, it is crisp and vibrant, with a perfect balance between freshness and richness. Flavors of ripe apples, lemon zest, and toasted almonds dance on the tongue, leading to a long and satisfying finish.

This Champagne is a versatile companion to a wide range of dishes. Its elegance and finesse make it a delightful aperitif, while its depth and complexity allow it to pair beautifully with seafood, poultry, or creamy cheeses. Whether enjoyed on a special occasion or

Taittinger is one of the most famous Champagne brands in the world, and one of the largest wineries in the Champagne region. Founded in 1932 by Pierre Taittinger, the estate is located in Riems with vineyards covering approximately 290 hectares distributed across the Champagne appellation.

Pierre Taittinger, an officer and prominent politician in 1915, didn’t foresee a life in winemaking, but after being assigned to the chief of staff based at Château de la Marquetterie, Pierre Taittinger fell in love. He decided to buy the property and its surroundings from the wine house Forest-Fourneaux and start a family legacy.

François Taittinger, Pierre’s son, took over the family business in 1945 and forged the signature style of the house. He was responsible for making Chardonnay their flagship grape because he was convinced of the potential that this variety would have among the consumers in the 20th century. After his untimely death in 1960, his bother Claude started managing the company until 2005, when was sold to a private investment firm. The new ownership didn’t seem compatible with Taittinger’s standards of quality and it’s for this reason that the Taittinger Family decided to buy back ownership in 2006.

Taittinger’s aim has always been the pursuit of excellence, as Pierre Emmanuel Taittinger, current Honary Chairman, sates:

“Having our family name on a bottle places demands and responsibilities on every minute. The name on the bottle conveys both the skills and knowledge of the past and a commitment to the future”.
