The 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre opens in the glass with notes of waxy lemon rind, oyster shell and a light framing of reduction. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and chalky, with a touch less cut and character than is found in Fèvre's best renditions of this site, those qualities likely a casualty of the frost that struck Montée de Tonnerre this year.

About this wine
William Fevre stands as one of Chablis' most respected producers, renowned for crafting authentic, mineral-driven white wines from France's northernmost Burgundy region. The Montée de Tonnerre Premier Cru exemplifies the house's commitment to terroir-focused winemaking, where cool-climate Chardonnay expresses the chalky limestone soils that define classic Chablis character.
This elegant white wine showcases the crisp, citrus-forward profile characteristic of unoaked Chablis, with a dry palate and bracing acidity that reflects its northern French origin. At 13% ABV, it strikes the perfect balance between freshness and complexity, making it exceptionally versatile at the table. The Premier Cru designation denotes superior vineyard sites that consistently produce wines of greater depth and aging potential than regional bottlings.
Pair this Chablis with shellfish, crab, lobster, and sushi for a classic match, or explore its affinity with poultry, grilled vegetables, goat cheese, and citrus-based dishes. Whether served aboard a superyacht, in a mountain villa, or at a fine dining establishment, William Fevre's Montée de Tonnerre delivers refined elegance in the glass.
