Tasting notes

Salus Estate Chardonnay is produced according to traditional Burgundy winemaking techniques, always respecting the unique quality of the fruit. The grapes are selected by hand, pressed and left to ferment in casks. Acidity and freshness are preserved by limiting malolactic fermentation. The wine is then left on its lees for ten months in large-sized barrels to optimize its aromatic freshness and roundness. This quintessential Napa Chardonnay has a brilliant golden colour. It is rich, complex and powerful, with aromas of ripe apple, apricot kernel, orange blossom, honey, mint, peach, and spices. The full ripeness of the grapes is manifested not only in the body of the wine but also in its alcohol content.

About this wine

Staglin's Salus Chardonnay represents the producer's commitment to crafting complex, full-bodied white wines from Napa Valley's finest terroir. This wine showcases the elegance and power that California Chardonnay can achieve, with characteristic stone fruit and blossom notes complemented by a leesy complexity that develops through thoughtful winemaking. The result is a sophisticated wine with impressive depth and structure.

Napa Valley's premier growing conditions, cool mornings, warm afternoons, and well-draining soils, provide the ideal foundation for producing world-class Chardonnay. Staglin's winemaking philosophy emphasizes balance and authenticity, allowing the vineyard's natural character to shine through in every bottle. At 13% ABV, this wine maintains elegant proportions while delivering the complexity and power expected of a serious California white.

Salus pairs beautifully with shellfish, crab, lobster, and other seafood preparations, as well as rich chicken dishes, mushroom-based cuisine, and refined cheeses like Comté and goat cheese. Its versatility extends to pasta dishes and sushi, making it an excellent choice for fine dining settings and special occasions throughout the year.
