A textured and expressive natural white with an inviting nose of ripe stone fruit, dried herbs, and sun-warmed citrus zest, underpinned by subtle floral and earthy nuances typical of the Languedoc terroir. On the palate, it delivers a generous, full-bodied character with lively acidity, hints of beeswax, and a saline mineral thread. The finish is long, warm, and gently oxidative, reflecting its artisan, low-intervention origins.
Maxime Magnon makes La Bégou Blanc in the Languedoc-Roussillon, a region long associated with characterful, terroir-driven whites grown on varied Mediterranean soils. At 13% abv, it fits the region's tradition of dry whites with enough weight to stand up to food rather than fade beside it.
Expect a textured, savoury style suited to the table rather than the aperitif hour. Serve at 10-12°C with pasta, green vegetables, tapas-style small plates or a simply cooked white fish and poultry - a versatile option for mixed guest preferences on board.
