Nose of brioche, honeyed citrus and white peach. Broader and more opulent on the palate than its neighbours, with a waxy texture, stone fruit and a mineral backbone. Long, generous finish, rich yet lifted by fine acidity.

About this wine
Jean-Claude Ramonet's Bâtard-Montrachet comes from one of the Côte de Beaune's great Grand Cru sites, its vines rooted in the deep, chalky limestone shared with Chevalier and Le Montrachet. Made entirely from Chardonnay, this is white Burgundy at its most powerful and structured, built for the cellar as much as the table.
Expect density and grip alongside the variety's classic richness: white flowers, hazelnut and a saline, mineral core that lengthens on the finish. Serve at 12–14°C with lobster, scallops, aged Comté or a veal dish rich enough to meet its weight.
