A blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, the fruit for the 2020 Napanook (like the 2020 Dominus) was picked prior to the start of the Glass Fire on September 27. Scents of redcurrants and cherries lead the way, bolstered by notes of dark chocolate and mocha. It's medium to full-bodied and silky in feel, despite a touch of warmth on the palate, while the long finish picks up a hint of red capsicum and a touch of coarseness.
Exuberantly fruity on the nose, the 2019 Napanook is a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc. Despite seeing 40% new French oak, what shines on the nose are the ripe cherries, delicately brushed with wisps of tobacco, sage and bay leaf. It's medium to full-bodied, supple and silky in feel on the palate, while the finish lingers easily, adding notes of pencil shavings and mocha. To get this sort of pedigree for less than $150 is a rarity in Napa these days, making it a notable value.

Discover the depth and richness of Dominus Estate - Napanook, crafted by the renowned Dominus Estate. This exquisite red wine showcases the best of its region, offering a symphony of flavors that include ripe berries, subtle spices, and hints of oak. Perfect for elevating any meal or occasion.

93 Points - The Wine AdvocateThe 2009 Napanook, which Moueix claims to be one of his favourite wines of the last decade, is among the finest they have made. A blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, it exhibits a dark plum/purple colour along with a big, sweet bouquet of liquorice, incense, roasted herbs, loamy soil, kirsch, black currants and underbrush. Medium to full-bodied with silky tannins and a round, opulent mouthfeel, this beauty can be drunk now and over the next 12-15 years.

Dominus Estate is a renowned wine producer located in the heart of Napa Valley, California. The estate was founded in 1983 by Christian Moueix, a French winemaker who is also the owner of Château Pétrus in Bordeaux. Dominus Estate is known for producing some of the finest Bordeaux-style blends in the world.

The estate is situated on 124 acres of land, with 60 acres dedicated to vineyards. The vineyards are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot grapes. The grapes are hand-harvested and sorted to ensure only the highest quality fruit is used in the winemaking process.

The winemaking process at Dominus Estate is a combination of traditional and modern techniques. The grapes are fermented in small stainless steel tanks, and then aged in French oak barrels for 18-20 months. The wine is then bottled unfiltered to preserve its natural flavors and aromas.

Dominus Estate produces two wines: Dominus and Napanook. Dominus is the flagship wine of the estate, and is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Napanook is a second wine, made from younger vines and is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc.

Dominus Estate has a rich history, dating back to the 1830s when the land was first settled by George Yount. The estate was later owned by John Daniel Jr., who was responsible for planting the first Cabernet Sauvignon vines in the Napa Valley. Christian Moueix purchased the estate in 1983, and has since transformed it into one of the most respected wineries in the world.

Dominus Estate has received numerous accolades over the years, including a perfect 100-point score from wine critic Robert Parker for the 2013 vintage of Dominus. The estate is also certified organic and biodynamic, reflecting its commitment to sustainable and environmentally-friendly winemaking practices.

In summary, Dominus Estate is a world-class winery that produces some of the finest Bordeaux-style blends in the world. Its commitment to quality, tradition, and sustainability has earned it a well-deserved reputation as one of the top wine producers in the Napa Valley and beyond.
