Clear and luminous golden coloured wine. On the nose, we can smell the melon, light citron, and a hint of vanilla. Yon can feel the terpene character of Sauvignon Blanc, and flint. The attack is lively. On the palate, the wine is voluminous and tense. The finish is persistent around the Reine-Claude plum.

Château Chasse Spleen is a renowned wine producer located in the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation of Bordeaux, France. The history of this estate dates back to the 18th century when it was owned by the Marquis de Latresne. The name Chasse Spleen is said to have been given to the estate by Lord Byron, who was a frequent visitor and admirer of the wines produced here.

The vineyards of Château Chasse Spleen cover an area of 80 hectares and are planted with a blend of grape varieties including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. The soils here are predominantly gravelly, which is ideal for the cultivation of these grape varieties.

The style of production at Château Chasse Spleen is traditional, with a focus on producing wines that are elegant, complex, and age-worthy. The grapes are hand-harvested and sorted before being fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wines are then aged in oak barrels for up to 18 months before being bottled.

The wines produced at Château Chasse Spleen are known for their deep ruby color, intense aromas of black fruit, and complex flavors of blackcurrant, tobacco, and spice. These wines have a firm structure and a long, lingering finish, making them ideal for aging.

Château Chasse Spleen produces a range of wines, including their flagship wine, Château Chasse Spleen, which is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. They also produce a second wine, L'Oratoire de Chasse Spleen, which is made from younger vines and is designed to be more approachable in its youth.

Overall, Château Chasse Spleen is a producer that is highly regarded for their traditional approach to winemaking and their commitment to producing wines of exceptional quality. Their wines are sought after by collectors and wine enthusiasts around the world, and they are a must-try for anyone looking to experience the best that Bordeaux has to offer.

Bordeaux, in the southwest of France, needs little introduction as one of the world's most famous, prestigious and prolific wine regions. The majority of Bordeaux wines (nearly 90 percent of production volume) are the dry, medium- and full-bodied red Bordeaux Blends that established its reputation.

The finest (and most expensive) of these are the wines from the great châteaux of the Haut-Médoc and the Right Bank appellations Saint-Émilion and Pomerol. The former is focused (at the top level) on Cabernet Sauvignon, the latter pair on on Merlot.

The legendary reds are complemented by high-quality white wines based on Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc. These range from dry whites to challenge the best from the Burgundy region (Pessac-Léognan is particularly renowned) to the sweet, botrytized nectars of Sauternes.
