Deep ruby in color with inviting aromas of dark cherry, ripe plum, and subtle dried herbs, complemented by hints of warm spice and a touch of earthy complexity. On the palate, this structured red delivers rich fruit flavors with well-integrated tannins, balanced acidity, and notes of black fruit, leather, and a whisper of oak. The finish is smooth, lingering, and satisfyingly full-bodied.

About this wine

1879 Boutari Legacy Single Vineyard is a Greek red made entirely from Xinomavro, sourced from a single vineyard and bottled by Boutari.

Xinomavro is Greece's answer to Nebbiolo: high acid, firm tannin, sour cherry and tomato leaf, with a savoury, herbal edge that deepens with air. Serve at 16-18°C with venison, red meat, pasta dishes or aged and hard cheeses, where its acidity and grip cut cleanly through richer fare.
