Tasting notes

The 2019 Chardonnay Larry Hyde & Sons explodes from the glass with bombastic scents of sea spray, freshly shaved ginger, lemon curd and grapefruit plus emerging hints of green guava, lime cordial and coriander seed with a waft of struck flint. Full-bodied, rich, and lively, the palate is remarkably fruity and yet possesses loads of mineral sparks and savoury nuances, finishing very long and spicy. This vintage no doubt played to the strengths of this site beautifully in 2019, delivering a very impressive wine of amazing singularity and intensity.

About this wine

Aubert's Larry Hyde & Sons Single Vineyard Chardonnay is a classic Californian white wine that is sure to please any Chardonnay lover. Produced in the Carneros region of Sonoma County, this Chardonnay is made from grapes grown in the Hyde family's vineyard, which is planted with a selection of clones, including the Wente clone. The wine is fermented in French oak barrels, giving it a rich, creamy texture and a complex flavor profile.

On the nose, the wine has aromas of ripe stone fruit, citrus, and toasted oak. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and well-balanced, with flavors of ripe apple, pear, and a hint of vanilla. The finish is long and lingering, with a hint of minerality.

This is a great example of a classic California Chardonnay, and is sure to please any Chardonnay lover.
