The Golden Century
Ingredienti
- 60 ml Brugal Siglo de Oro Selection Special Rum
- 20 ml Cognac VSOP
- 15 ml Amontillado Sherry
- 10 ml Honey syrup (1:1 ratio)
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 1 dash Orange bitters
- 1 piece Flamed orange peel
Preparazione
- Add the rum, Cognac, Amontillado sherry, honey syrup, and both bitters to a mixing glass filled with large ice cubes.
- Stir continuously for 45 seconds until the mixture is properly chilled and diluted.
- Strain through a fine mesh strainer into the chilled glass.
- Express the oils from a fresh orange peel over the surface by holding it skin-side down and squeezing firmly.
- Flame the orange peel briefly over the cocktail using a lighter to caramelize the oils.
Servire
Serve in a crystal rocks glass with one large hand-cut ice sphere. Place the flamed orange peel on the rim and allow it to rest against the ice sphere. Present with the glass chilled to 2°C prior to service.
