Masseria Surani is a winery located in Puglia, Italy's southeastern region, specifically working within the Primitivo di Manduria DOC appellation. This estate produces wines from the native Primitivo grape, which is genetically identical to California's Zinfandel variety and thrives in the warm, Mediterranean climate of southern Italy.

The Primitivo di Manduria DOC encompasses vineyards planted on the red, iron-rich soils of the Salento peninsula, where the maritime influence of both the Adriatic and Ionian seas moderates the intense southern Italian heat.
