The 2015 Santenay Vieilles Vignes Champs Claude, which comes from vines planted back in 1901 (so they are genuine Vieilles Vignes!) has a vibrant, edgy, redcurrant and cranberry scented bouquet, hints of tomato vine and persimmon developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle, caressing tannin. This is one of the best balanced and harmonious of the domain's 2015s, with a sensual and quite beguiling finish that lingers long in the mouth. This is highly recommended.
Domaine Marc Colin is a respected Burgundian producer known for elegant, terroir-driven wines from the Santenay appellation. Les Champs Claude Vieilles, a Premier Cru vineyard, showcases the producer's commitment to expressing the distinctive character of this prestigious region through careful viticulture and traditional winemaking methods.
This red wine is crafted from Pinot Noir, the noble grape of Burgundy, delivering a medium-bodied expression with balanced acidity and complexity. At 13% ABV, it offers restrained power and finesse, making it an ideal choice for fine dining and sophisticated entertaining aboard yachts, in mountain chalets, or villa settings.
The wine's versatility at the table is exceptional, pair it with lamb, duck, beef, and charcuterie, or explore its affinity for creamy cheeses like Brie and Camembert. It also complements mushroom-based dishes, grilled vegetables, and tomato-driven cuisine, making it a natural selection for both classic French fare and contemporary gastronomy.
