The 2015 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Vide Bourse, aged in 25% new oak, has a slightly timid bouquet that demanded coaxing from the glass, eventually offering scents of warm concrete, citrus peel and sea spray. I would like a little more cohesion. The palate is very fresh and taut on the entry. There is a fine thread of acidity here with almost a Puligny-like austerity towards the finish.
Domaine Marc Colin is a respected producer in Chassagne-Montrachet, one of Burgundy's premier white wine appellations. This Premier Cru white wine is crafted from Chardonnay, the region's signature grape, and represents the refined winemaking tradition of the Côte de Beaune. Marc Colin's approach emphasizes elegance and terroir expression, allowing the distinctive character of Chassagne-Montrachet's limestone-rich soils to shine through.
Les Vides Bourses is a fresh, medium-bodied white with bright citrus fruit and lean structure. At 12.5% ABV, it balances approachability with sophistication, ideal for discerning palates seeking classic Burgundian whites. The wine's medium-plus acidity and mineral backbone make it remarkably versatile at the table, pairing beautifully with shellfish, grilled lobster, crab, and sushi. It also complements chicken, pasta dishes, fresh salads, mushrooms, and aged cheeses like Parmesan and Manchego, making it a natural choice for fine dining and sophisticated entertaining.
