Tasting Notes94 Points - The Wine Advocate"The estate's flagship 2007 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Asinone is a single-vineyard offering from 45 year-old vines that spent months in French oak. Explosive, ripe and totally seductive, the Asinone presents a heady array of dark fruit, new leather, and licorice, along with menthol, spices and a host of other balsamic nuances that come to life in the glass. The French oak is already beautifully integrated, but the fruit is still quite vibrant, suggesting the wine needs at least another few years in bottle to develop its full range of aromas and flavors. Today, I can only marvel at the wine's exceptional balance and drop-dead gorgeous personality. The Asinone is a winner from Poliziano." AG

About this wine
Poliziano Asinone is a distinguished red wine from Tuscany's prestigious Montepulciano region, crafted from Sangiovese grapes in the heart of one of Italy's most celebrated wine territories. The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG designation reflects the wine's adherence to strict quality standards and its expression of the region's unique terroir, where elevation and clay-rich soils impart complexity and character to every bottle.
This medium-bodied red delivers pronounced intensity with elegant black fruit and liquorice notes, balanced by medium acidity that lends freshness and structure. The careful winemaking approach at Poliziano emphasizes the natural qualities of Sangiovese, creating a wine of sophistication suitable for serious collectors and discerning palates alike.
Asinone pairs beautifully with Tuscan cuisine, aged cheeses, and roasted meats. The wine's balanced profile and dry finish make it an excellent companion for fine dining occasions, whether enjoyed at your villa, yacht, or exclusive restaurant table. A true expression of Montepulciano's winemaking heritage.
