Tasting notes

The FMC, crafted entirely from Chenin Blanc, showcases a bouquet of mineral lemon notes and citrus blossoms, complemented by underripe peach, ripe yellow apples and a nutty undertone. Medium-bodied, the wine presents fresh, lush peach blossoms on the palate. Transitioning from medium to full-bodied, it offers greater textural freshness, ripeness and complexity before coming to a long, food-friendly finish. 26,000 bottles were produced.

About this wine

Ken Forrester's The FMC is a benchmark Chenin Blanc from Stellenbosch, South Africa's premier white wine region. This wine showcases the versatility and elegance that have made South African Chenin Blanc a world-class expression, combining freshness with complexity in a bottle that reflects both the winemaker's philosophy and the distinctive terroir of the area.

The FMC delivers the characteristic mineral-driven profile and bright acidity that define quality Chenin Blanc from this region. On the palate, expect citrus and stone fruit character balanced with a subtle nuttiness and fresh, under-ripe fruit notes that keep the wine vibrant and food-friendly. At 13% ABV, it maintains an elegant lightness ideal for extended enjoyment.

This wine pairs beautifully with shellfish and lobster, poultry, grilled vegetables, and hard cheeses, making it equally at home at the table or as an aperitif. Its versatility extends to aromatic, herb-forward dishes and even truffles, reflecting the sophistication Ken Forrester brings to winemaking in Stellenbosch.
