Tasting notes
The nose of this wine continues with the signature red fruits, now rich and complemented by wild herbs, roasted herbs, mint, and green notes in abundance. There are additional layers of mushrooms, a lovely elegance, and a touch of sweet dill. On the palate, this medium-bodied wine shows beautiful elegance. While it is not as rich as the Georges, it is charming and refined with excellent acidity. The flavors are driven by red fruits, raspberries, tart ripe green fruits, tart cranberries, black cherries, and more raspberries. The tannins are still present but more approachable than those of the Georges, accompanied by sweet fruits, roasted herbs, and a rich, mineral mushroom note. The finish is long, green, and mineral, with vibrant acidity, rich in minerals and earthy nuances.

About this wine
JP Marchand's Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes is a distinguished expression of one of Burgundy's most celebrated appellations. Crafted from old-vine Pinot Noir, this red wine embodies the elegance and complexity that define the region's finest offerings. The mature vines concentrate flavors and aromas, delivering a wine with mineral precision, earthy undertones, and subtle herbaceous characteristics that reflect the terroir of this prestigious Côte d'Or location.
Gevrey-Chambertin has long been recognized as a source of world-class Pinot Noir, and JP Marchand's commitment to quality winemaking upholds this tradition. The Vieilles Vignes cuvée showcases the producer's philosophy of respecting the vineyard and allowing the natural character of the fruit to shine. The wine's balanced structure and elegant profile make it remarkably versatile at the table.
This kosher red pairs beautifully with classic French cuisine and refined preparations: lamb, beef, duck, mushroom dishes, and grilled vegetables all complement its nuanced flavor profile. It also works exceptionally well with artisanal cheeses such as Brie and Camembert, making it an excellent choice for sophisticated entertaining in homes, villas, and fine dining settings.
