Tasting notes

The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Tamisot has a ripe red cherry and blueberry-scented bouquet that is a little simplistic, too eager to please perhaps. The palate is medium bodied with supple ripe red cherry and strawberry fruit, just the right amount of salinity and a nicely poised finish that compensates for the straightforward nature of the nose.

About this wine

Domaine Pierre Damoy - Gevrey-Chambertin - Clos Tamisot

Domaine Pierre Damoy is a family-owned winery located in the heart of Burgundy, France. The winery has been producing exceptional wines for over 150 years, and their Gevrey-Chambertin - Clos Tamisot is no exception.

This wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, which are carefully selected and handpicked from the Clos Tamisot vineyard. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels for 18 months, which gives it a complex and elegant flavour profile.

On the nose, this wine has aromas of black cherry, raspberry, and a hint of spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied with flavours of dark fruit, vanilla, and a subtle earthiness. The tannins are firm but well-integrated, giving the wine a long and smooth finish.

The Clos Tamisot vineyard is located in the heart of the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation, which is known for producing some of the finest Pinot Noir wines in the world. The vineyard is situated on a steep slope, which gives the grapes excellent exposure to the sun and allows them to ripen fully.

This wine is perfect for pairing with rich and flavourful dishes such as roasted lamb or beef, or with strong cheeses such as Brie or Camembert. It is also a great wine to enjoy on its own, perhaps while relaxing in front of a roaring fire on a cold winter's night.

Overall, Domaine Pierre Damoy's Gevrey-Chambertin - Clos Tamisot is a truly exceptional wine that showcases the best of Burgundy's Pinot Noir grapes. Its complex flavour profile and long finish make it a wine that is sure to impress even the most discerning wine connoisseur.
