Tasting notes

The 2020 Meursault La Vignes de 1945 is excellent, unwinding in the glass with aromas of confit citrus, white flowers, toasted almonds, beeswax and struck match. Medium to full-bodied, dense and concentrated, its deep, layered, tightly wound core is girdled by racy acids. This cuvée is always one of Essa's best, and the 2020 is no exception.

About this wine

Domaine Buisson-Charles is a family-run winery located in the Burgundy region of France. Founded in 1945, the winery is renowned for its production of Meursault wines, a white wine made from Chardonnay grapes. The Domaine Buisson-Charles Meursault La Vigne de 1945 is a special cuvée, made from grapes grown in a single vineyard. The wine is aged for 12 months in oak barrels, giving it a complex and intense flavor.

The nose is full of aromas of ripe fruit, butter, and toasted almonds, while the palate is full of flavors of ripe apples, honey, and a hint of spice. The finish is long and lingering, with a hint of minerality. This is a truly unique and special wine, perfect for special occasions.
