Tasting notes
The 2021 Pinot Noir Paul Gerrie Vineyard was fermented with 40% whole clusters, and the wine was matured for 18 months in 45% new French oak. It's bursting with a kaleidoscopic perfume of strawberry, raspberry and pomegranate and nuances of lavender, licorice and bitters. The light-bodied palate is elegantly styled, with understated, spicy fruit, vibrant acidity, chalky tannins and a very long, layered finish. It opens dramatically as it airs in the glass and will benefit from time in a decanter

About this wine
Cristom Vineyards crafts elegant Pinot Noir from the heart of Oregon's Willamette Valley, one of America's premier cool-climate wine regions. The Paul Gerrie Pinot Noir exemplifies the estate's commitment to terroir-driven winemaking, capturing the distinctive character of Willamette Valley soils and microclimates. This light-bodied red expresses the refinement Pinot Noir achieves in this legendary appellation, with layered complexity and balanced structure.
The wine's profile of red fruit, spice, and mineral notes makes it exceptionally versatile at the table. Pair it with lamb, duck, or beef preparations, or explore its affinity with mushroom-based dishes, truffles, and umami-rich charcuterie. The wine's elegant acidity and perfumed character also complement grilled vegetables, goat cheese, and game birds beautifully. At 13.5% ABV, it drinks with finesse and food-friendly approachability, ideal for intimate dinners aboard, at your villa, or fine dining settings where sophistication and balance are paramount.
