Tasting notes
The 2016 Pinot Noir is pale to medium ruby-purple in colour with a nose of warm red and black cherries and cranberry plus touches of crushed blueberries, cinnamon stick, charcuterie, and underbrush. Light to medium-bodied, it has good concentration of warm red and black fruits in the mouth with earthy and spicy layers, soft, grainy tannins, and plenty of freshness, finishing long.

About this wine
Nicolas Jay by Meo-Camuzet is a winery located in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, known for producing high-quality Pinot Noir wines. Founded in 2012 by Jean-Nicolas Meo of Domaine Meo-Camuzet in Burgundy, France, and Jay Boberg, a music industry executive, the winery sources its grapes from several vineyards throughout the Willamette Valley, including the Bishop Creek Vineyard, the Nysa Vineyard, and the Momtazi Vineyard. The winery's Pinot Noir wines are made using traditional Burgundian winemaking techniques, resulting in elegant and complex wines with aromas of red fruit, earth, and spice. On the palate, the wines are silky and smooth, with a long, lingering finish.
In addition to Pinot Noir, Nicolas Jay by Meo-Camuzet also produces a limited amount of Chardonnay and Pinot Gris wines. The Chardonnay is sourced from the Bishop Creek Vineyard and is fermented and aged in French oak barrels, resulting in a rich and creamy wine with notes of tropical fruit and vanilla. The Pinot Gris is sourced from the Momtazi Vineyard and is fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks, resulting in a crisp and refreshing wine with notes of citrus and stone fruit.
Overall, Nicolas Jay by Meo-Camuzet is a producer of high-quality Pinot Noir wines that are made using traditional Burgundian winemaking techniques. The winery's commitment to sourcing grapes from top vineyards in the Willamette Valley and using native yeasts for fermentation results in wines that are complex, elegant, and reflective of their terroir.
