Enquire about availabilityThe 2012 Le Pauillac de Château Latour has a pleasant strictness on the well-defined bouquet with black fruit laced with fine mineralité for a third wine. The palate is medium-bodied with a juicy core of fruit, an almost pastille-like purity, smooth in the mouth with a caressing, quite rounded finish. It might have just put on a little weight since I last tasted it. Drink this now and over the next 7-10 years. Tasted March 2017.
Château Latour's Pauillac de Latour is a refined expression of Bordeaux's most prestigious appellation. This red wine blends Cabernet Franc and Merlot to create a full-bodied wine with concentrated black fruit character, subtle vanilla notes, and a creamy texture. It represents the estate's commitment to producing wines of elegance and depth from Pauillac's gravelly terroir.
Pauillac de Latour showcases the distinctive profile of left-bank Bordeaux, where well-drained soils and maritime influence create ideal conditions for Cabernet-based wines. The careful balance of grape varieties and measured 14% alcohol demonstrates the winemaker's philosophy of restraint and finesse, allowing the wine's natural complexity to emerge.
This is an excellent choice for pairing with beef, lamb, and rich game dishes, as well as aged cheeses. Its structure and depth make it suitable for immediate enjoyment or cellaring, offering versatility for both fine dining occasions and private wine collections.
