About this wine
Capichera - Vermentino - Isola dei Nuraghi
Capichera's Vermentino is a dry white from Sardinia, bottled under the Isola dei Nuraghi IGT. The designation takes its name from the ancient stone towers that dot the island's landscape.
Citrus blossom, lemon zest and white peach lead on the nose, with a trace of Mediterranean herbs behind. The palate is dry and fresh, with ripe orchard fruit, a saline edge and a gentle texture. The finish is clean, with a light bitter-almond note that keeps you reaching for the glass.
Capichera makes this wine from Vermentino alone, the grape most closely associated with Sardinian white wine. An island setting of warm sun and sea air typically gives ripe fruit with a saline lift, and that balance is what this bottle delivers.
Serve well chilled, as an aperitif on deck or alongside the first course. It suits crab, shellfish, sushi and sashimi, and simply cooked white fish. It also works with salads and dishes built on fresh herbs and aromatics.
