Tasting notes

Vivid yellow straw colour with soft greenish hints, the typical bouquet of tropical fruit and citrus notes with a distinguish Mediterranean flavour, such as the sage fragrancy. On the palate this wine is silky and well balanced, with good mineral and freshness notes.

About this wine

Agricola Punica is a winery located in the Isola dei Nuraghi region of Sardinia, Italy. The winery was founded in 2002 as a joint venture between the Sardinian winery Cantina Sociale di Santadi and the famous Tuscan winemaker, Sebastiano Rosa. The winery is known for producing high-quality wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.

One of the most popular wines produced by Agricola Punica is the Samas, which is a white wine made from a blend of Vermentino and Chardonnay grapes. The wine is named after the ancient Sardinian goddess of fertility and agriculture, and it is a tribute to the rich history and culture of the region.

The Samas is a fresh and vibrant wine that is perfect for pairing with seafood and other light dishes. The wine has a pale straw color and a delicate aroma of white flowers and citrus fruits. On the palate, the wine is crisp and refreshing, with flavors of green apple, lemon, and a hint of minerality.

The grapes used to make the Samas are grown in the sandy soils of the Isola dei Nuraghi region, which is known for its warm and sunny climate. The grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected to ensure that only the best fruit is used in the winemaking process.

After the grapes are harvested, they are gently pressed and the juice is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine is then aged on its lees for several months to add complexity and depth to the flavor profile.

Overall, the Samas is a beautiful expression of the unique terroir of the Isola dei Nuraghi region. It is a wine that is both elegant and approachable, and it is sure to impress even the most discerning wine connoisseur.
