Like most of Bibi Graetz wines, the name is very evocative, “CasaMatta”: the “Crazy-House”, Casamatta Rosso reflects the freshness, transparency and strength of the red fruit of Sangiovese variety. Entirely vinified in steel to preserve its vibrant and playful character. It is a pure transparent Sangiovese with plenty cherry and raspberry, nice acidity which helps with food and a round medium body with low tannins and a vibrant and surprising aftertaste.

Bibi Graetz is a renowned wine producer from Tuscany, Italy. The history of the Graetz family in winemaking dates back to the 1800s, when Bibi's great-grandfather founded the family's first winery. Bibi himself grew up surrounded by vineyards and developed a passion for winemaking at a young age. He studied oenology in Bordeaux and worked in various wineries around the world before returning to Tuscany to start his own venture.

Bibi Graetz is known for his unconventional approach to winemaking. He believes in minimal intervention and letting the grapes speak for themselves. He uses only indigenous yeasts and avoids filtration and fining. His wines are a true expression of the terroir and the grape varieties.

Bibi Graetz produces a range of wines, from entry-level to premium. His most famous wine is Testamatta, a blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Colorino. Testamatta means "crazy head" in Italian, and it's a fitting name for this bold and complex wine. It's aged in French oak barrels for 18 months and has a deep ruby color, with aromas of black cherry, tobacco, and leather. On the palate, it's full-bodied and rich, with firm tannins and a long finish.

Another notable wine from Bibi Graetz is Colore, a blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Syrah. Colore means "color" in Italian, and it's a reference to the wine's deep, intense color. It's aged in French oak barrels for 24 months and has aromas of blackberry, blackcurrant, and vanilla. On the palate, it's full-bodied and velvety, with a long and persistent finish.

Bibi Graetz also produces a white wine called Casamatta Bianco, made from Vermentino and Trebbiano. It's a fresh and lively wine, with aromas of citrus and white flowers. It's aged in stainless steel tanks and has a crisp and refreshing acidity.

Overall, Bibi Graetz is a producer who values tradition and innovation in equal measure. His wines are a testament to the rich history of winemaking in Tuscany, but also to his own unique vision and style. Whether you're a seasoned wine connoisseur or a curious beginner, Bibi Graetz's wines are sure to impress.

Italy's most ancient wine region, Tuscany may not be a heavyweight in terms of quantity, but as the home of two of the country's most famous fine wines – Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino – it certainly holds its own in terms of quality. Tuscany's climate ranges from Mediterranean on the coast to continental deep in the Apennines. More than two thirds of the province is covered with hills, an important terroir factor in its fine wines.

Toscana IGT is a wine appellation located in the central region of Italy, known for producing some of the finest wines in the world. The history of winemaking in Toscana dates back to the Etruscan era, and the region has been producing wine for over 3,000 years. The appellation is home to some of the most famous wine regions in Italy, including Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.

The style of production in Toscana IGT is heavily influenced by the region's climate and soil. The appellation is characterized by a Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and mild winters. The soil is predominantly clay and limestone, which provides excellent drainage and mineral content for the vines. The grapes grown in Toscana IGT include Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah, among others.

The typical wines produced in Toscana IGT are red wines, with Sangiovese being the most widely planted grape variety. The wines are known for their rich, full-bodied flavors, with notes of cherry, plum, and spice. The tannins are firm and well-structured, providing a long, lingering finish. The wines are often aged in oak barrels, which adds complexity and depth to the flavor profile.

One of the most famous wines from Toscana IGT is Chianti, which is made from Sangiovese grapes. Chianti is known for its bright, fruity flavors, with notes of cherry, raspberry, and violet. The wine is typically aged in oak barrels, which adds a subtle vanilla and spice flavor to the wine. Another famous wine from Toscana IGT is Brunello di Montalcino, which is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes.
