Buffalo Trace Distillery

Buffalo Trace Distillery, located in Frankfort, Kentucky, is an iconic American whiskey producer with a rich history dating back to the 18th century. Originally known as the O.F.C. Distillery, it was founded by distilling pioneer Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor Jr. in 1787. In 1870, the distillery was renamed to George T. Stagg Distillery after being purchased by the Stagg family. Finally, in 1999, the distillery was rebranded as Buffalo Trace Distillery, paying homage to the buffalo that once roamed the land where the distillery now stands.

The distillery is situated on the banks of the Kentucky River, in the heart of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. It is a National Historic Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The distillery boasts 119 buildings, many of which are still used in the production of their award-winning whiskies. Buffalo Trace is also recognized as the oldest continuously operating distillery in the United States.

Buffalo Trace Distillery is best known for its Bourbon and Rye whiskies, which are made from a mash bill of corn, rye, and barley. The distillery produces a wide range of whiskies, including its flagship Buffalo Trace Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Eagle Rare 10 Year Old Single Barrel Bourbon, and the highly sought-after Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve. Their whiskies have won numerous awards and accolades, solidifying their reputation as one of the top whiskey producers in the world.

The distillery also produces a variety of other spirits, including vodka, rum, and gin.
