The estate was acquired by the Rothschild family in 1868, and since then, it has been passed down through generations, with each one adding their own touch to the winemaking process. Today, the estate is owned by Baron Eric de Rothschild, who has continued the legacy of producing exceptional wines that have earned worldwide recognition.

Château Lafite Rothschild is known for its exceptional red wines, which are made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot grapes. The unique terroir of Pauillac, with its gravelly soils, provides the perfect conditions for these grape varieties to thrive. The wines are aged in oak barrels for 18-20 months, resulting in a complex and elegant flavor profile.
