Léoube’s vineyard story begins in Provence, home to the oldest vineyards in France retaining the secrets of life, perfumes and sunny foods deep in its heart.

Léoube estate is rooted between the sea and the hills, offering a unique terroir: 68 hectares of vines and 23 hectares of olive groves, all devoted to growing the grapes and olives that make their organic wines and olive oils. For more than 20 years Léoube hs been cultivating and working the soils in line with their principles of organic farming. In 1998, Léoube started the long process of converting the vineyard and olive grove; restoring the crops, redeveloping the plots, working the soil with the greatest care and planting vines according to the flow of water to avoid erosion. Banning the use of any pesticides and chemicals, to produce only what the land can offer.

As the founders of Daylesford Organic – one of the UK’s most sustainable farms – the Bamford family are passionate about environmentally friendly farming and wished to bring this natural approach to Léoube. Farming in harmony with nature. It is not constrained, but supported, considering the natural cycle of the seasons and respecting the balance of each plant in its environment. Léoube truly embodies their philosophy; to make the world of today and tomorrow more sustainable in order to leave a better planet for future generations.

Traditionele druivenrassen domineren de beplantingen, met Grenache, Cinsault en Syrah die de ruggengraat vormen van de meeste roséblends, vaak aangevuld met Mourvèdre en Tibouren. Witte wijnen bevatten typisch Rolle (Vermentino), Clairette en Ugni Blanc, terwijl rode wijnen Grenache, Syrah en Mourvèdre benadrukken. Provençaalse rosés worden gekenmerkt door hun bleek zalmkleurig, bereikt door minimaal huidcontact en onmiddellijk persen, wat resulteert in frisse, droge wijnen met delicate fruitmoten en minerale noten die het diverse terroir van de regio weerspiegelen.

Côtes de Provence is an appellation located in southeastern France within the Provence region, stretching across the departments of Var and Bouches-du-Rhône. The appellation covers a substantial area of Mediterranean coastline and inland terrain, encompassing zones from the Maures Massif to the Esterel mountains. The appellation was officially established in 1977, recognizing the region's long winemaking tradition dating back centuries.

The appellation benefits from a Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and mild winters, moderated by the Mistral wind. Soils vary across the region, ranging from limestone and clay to schist and sandstone, contributing to diverse microclimates within the appellation. Côtes de Provence permits a broad range of grape varieties: Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, and Mourvèdre dominate red and rosé production, while whites may include Rolle, Semillon, Ugni Blanc, and Sauvignon Blanc. The appellation is not restricted to single-varietal wines; blended wines are standard practice across all three colors.

Rosé wines are the hallmark of Côtes de Provence, typically produced in a dry style with pale salmon coloring. These rosés offer delicate red fruit aromatics and refreshing acidity, suited to the region's warm climate. The appellation also produces dry white wines with citrus and mineral notes, and red wines ranging from light and fruity to more structured examples, depending on the specific blend and producer. The diversity of the appellation reflects both its geographic range and the flexibility winemakers have in blending across permitted varieties.
